Hi, I am Lexie Cheng, an engineer, a maker, and a self-taught graphic designer raised in Taipei, Taiwan and New York. I currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. My work ranges from product design, product marketing, quantitative research, storytelling, branding, to product management. Extensive knowledge in Electro-mechanical experience with control drawings for PCBAs, connector selection, harness specification, thermal, chassis/enclosure design, product packaging, safety compliance, and EMI/EMC shielding requirements. Practical experience working through DFM/DFA challenges with external vendors from low-volume builds to high-volume mass production.

I have been the only woman in the room for majority of the time during both my college career and my professional career. Some people might see this as a deterrent. I see this as an opportunity to change the stereotype. I believe it is important for young female engineers to learn early on that we are equal players in the team instead of viewing ourselves as minority. Everyday I wake up to prove to others and myself that women can do anything and sometimes better than our male counterparts.

Currently Serving as the Chair of ASME Santa Clara Valley Section to share my passion of building an engineering community that inspires other engineers and technical professionals. I have been approaching different industry leaders to volunteer to address the issue of disconnection with early career ASME members after they graduate from school. Today, ASME SCVS has an active programming to include local student sections to create a pipeline of emerging engineering leadership in the organizations. Moreover, for the past two years, I have advocated to merge the nearby inactive SF Bay Area Professional Sections into Santa Clara Section. This merger was approved by HQ and recently completed. This is a new chapter for the ASME Santa Clara Valley Section,

During my free time, I enjoy trying out new recipes, playing board games with family & friends, finding my way out of escape rooms.
